Wanna Be More Productive? Try This!

We all know that exercise is good for us.  I can list out all of the amazing health benefits from weight loss, improved health, better sleep, elevated mood, tone and strength to a stronger immune system and the list goes on and on.

Yet, so many of us (myself included) struggle with making exercise a regular part of our daily routines.

But what if I told you that exercise will not only make you more productive (on and off the job) and  can even make you smarter.  Would that interest you?

Exercise Boosts Productivity

Research has proven that exercise, (cardio in particular) has an immediate effect on our mood (yay for mood elevation!), energy and sharpen our focus.  All of the key ingredients needed to be more productive.

More Energy?

Yup!  The more you move, the more you increase your energy, which in turn, increases your endurance.  We all know that to be productive, we need energy to think clearly and actually carry out our work.

Sharper Focus?

Yes again!  Did you know that exercise has a direct effect on the brain which increases your ability to focus for at least 2 – 3 hours after exercising?  There’s a reason fitness experts suggest exercising in the morning before work.

Better Memory?

Bingo!  Studies have been conducted testing memory functions in groups that were active vs. groups that were sedentary.  Guess who came out ahead?  The active group!

Less Distractions?

This is a new one to me!  Studies show that exercise releases endorphins which helps your brain prioritize activities, block out distractions and concentrate on the task at hand.

And Here’s the Best News!

All you need to do is get your heart rate up for 30 minutes on most days (figure 4 – 5 days per week).  We all can carve out 30 minutes a day to improve our function – not to mention our health.

I’m in if you’re in.

Who’s with me?
