“Typing Without Pain” Individual Keyboard Training
(doctor prescription or via company sponsorship)

What is the “Typing Without Pain” Keyboard Training Program?

Whether your patients have exposed themselves to injury via the “hunt and peck” or “home-row” typing method, the Prodigy to Maestro training program is a pioneering “pain-free” approach to typing. PBE’s “Typing Maestros” will teach patients how to replace antiquated and injurious typing moves with a rhythmic, pianistic and fun typing technique designed to let their fingers “dance” upon the key tops. By mastering PBE’s hallmark features of Drum Rolls, Choreography and more, they will rise from the rank of Typing Prodigy to Typing Maestro.

What are the goals of the program?

The “Prodigy to Maestro” training program has been designed to help prevent and reduce both the pain and injury associated with improper keyboard and mouse use. When properly applied, this program is an invaluable and highly effective tool in combating a patient’s computer related RSI. The long-term success in maintaining a patient’s comfort at the computer is achieved via behavior modification and the acquisition of specific movement skills.

Session Topics Include:

Learning the “Prodigy to Maestro” Typing Technique which teaches patients bio-mechanically efficient and coordinated typing and mousing motions.
Choreographing specific typing movements thus enabling joints and muscles to move in a mid-range of motion, which in turn allows patients a greater freedom of motion at the computer
Introducing and incorporating the concept of coordinated vs. isolated movements at the computer as the salient tool in maintaining and/or increasing a patient’s productivity
Correlating the most common computer related RSI’s with poor keyboard and mouse mechanics
Mastering Key Commands as a viable option in reducing mouse dependency
Improving sitting posture and balance

Where will the training take place and how long does it take?
That’s the great news! All training conveniently takes place right at your patient’s own workstation. This enables the patient and his/her trainer to cover the challenges pertaining to the particular job tasks that may contribute to their pain & discomfort. Training comprises an average of 4–6 one hour visits over a period of approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

How do I manage the program?
